FLU CLINIC SUCCESS – Mahalo KMS Parent Volunteers!
Over 250 KMS students received their free flu shots yesterday. Special 
thanks to our parent volunteers who made time during their busy day to
assist in watching over our students. Mahalo to Mrs. Jodie Lum (Reiney, 6th), 
Mrs. Mona Pang (Lincoln, 6th) and Mrs. Michele Rubio (Bryson, 7th).
Your presence was deeply appreciated.

ALERT! CROSS SAFELY – Please use Pali Hwy Pedestrian Overpass
Students are reminded to please use the Pali Highway pedestrian overpass 
when attempting to cross the highway from KMS.  DO NOT jaywalk across 
the highway as cars are driving at very high speeds and are not expecting
pedestrians.  

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION MEETING, for current 8th grade parents,
is scheduled for Thursday, November 15, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in
the KMS auditorium. Please sign up by submitting the form below to your
child’s AA class by November 9.

Representatives from Farrington HS, McKinley HS and Roosevelt HS will 
present information about their schools’ programs and requirements,
in preparation for the upcoming 9th grade registration.  

Please note that this meeting will provide information that will be helpful to 
all parents regardless of what high school your student is planning to attend.

SCHOOL PHOTO RETAKES are scheduled for Friday, November 9, 2018, from 
12:30 to 2:00 pm in the library.  Students who were unable to be at the original 
picture taking day, forgot to pay, or don’t like their original photo, may do a retake.

Students who are retaking because they do not like their original photo, must
bring in the original photo package
 and let the photographer know the reason they
do not like the original photo so that they can create a better image.

ROOSEVELT HS VISITATION – Permission slips due November 7
On Tuesday, November 13,  KMS students who are projected to attend 
Roosevelt High School next school year will be attending an orientation 
and informational assembly at RHS.  Buses will pick students up promptly 
at 8:30 am so students are urged to be on time for school.   

Permission forms were distributed students who are eligible to attend. 
Please make sure that they are signed and returned to AA class by 
Wednesday, November 7. 

KMS FLORIDA SCIENCE TRIP 2019
Each year, the Kawananakoa Science Department organizes a school year-end 

trip to the mainland.   This year, the group will adventuring to Orlando, Florida – 
Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Sea World 
and more!

All students received information and sign up forms last week.  If your child
did not share this with you, please see the attachment below and attend one 
of the Parent Meetings scheduled for November 14 and 15, 6:00 pm in room K302.

for their generous donation of boxes of facial tissue and hand sanitizer 
or our Team 7A classes.

TEACHERS’ WISH LIST – Help our teachers, help our students
Team 7A (Mr. Marlin, Ms. Togashi, Mr. Waterman-Reilly, and  Ms. Yamane) 
request donations of boxes of facial tissue (Kleenex, Scotties or other) as the 
flu and cold season approaches.

Please label all donations with your name and the name of the recipient, 
and then bring them to the school main office.  Mahalo!
