A CALL FOR HELP!  May 18, Friday, from 12:30 to 2:00
Parents, guardians and other family members of our KMS ohana who would like a
chance to help our students in the classroom – here is a great opportunity!
Team 8B teachers (Mr. Chin, Mr. Fahy, Mr. Hankins, Mr. Lum and Ms. Ullian)
have planned an exciting interdisciplinary unit about fisheries for their students.
The teaching team needs adult volunteers on Friday, May 18 from 12:30 to 2:00,
to guide students through some of the hands-on activities such as throwing fishing
nets, tying fishing knots and making fish prints (gyotaku).

If you are interested in helping with this Team 8B activity, and perhaps learning a
little about fisheries yourself, please contact Mr. Chin at
or call the school’s main office at (808) 307-0300 and leave your name and phone
number so that Mr. Chin can return your call.  Mahalo for supporting our teaching

EVERY CLIP COUNTS! Students, please remember to turn in your
Box Tops  to your AA teacher by May 4 and help your class win a pizza

Box Top coupons can be found on the packaging of many items that are
usually purchased at the supermarket (food stuffs and household cleaning

Check your cupboards at home, clip the Box Tops, put them in an envelope
or plastic sandwich bag with your name and AA room number and then turn
it in to your AA teacher before the expiration date listed on the Box Top.

Proceeds from Box Tops collections will help fund the purchase of books
and reading incentive prizes for our KMS students. Last year, the clipped
Box Tops earned $800.00 – please help our school reach this goal again!
