BOX TOPS WINNERS! – Congratulations to Ms Ishida’s AA class for their outstanding
effort in clipping Box Tops to help raise funds for our school.  J101 AA students
enjoyed their prize-winning pizza party today!

The Box Tops competition will continue through the second semester, so students
should keep on clipping and help their AA win next semester!

Mahalo to Ms. Lulla for organizing this competition/fundraiser.

HOLIDAY MUSINGS – Our KMS faculty and staff share their thoughts, remembrances
and plans for the season:

Ms. Lulla (English) – “Every year my family goes out to this beautiful tree farm
(in Pennsylvania). They take us out to the field in a wagon pulled by two giant
Clydesdale horses.  Then, we pick out a tree and each one of us uses the hand saw
to slice it down, saying it’s fulfilling its Christmas destiny. We finish out the day
with homemade hot chocolate and the tree dance (putting it in the corer/shaker).
What a perfect day!”

Ms. Izumoto (English) – “My holiday wish for everyone is to enjoy the time they
have with family and friends.”

REFLECTION – “We know what works.  Freedom works. We know what’s right.
Freedom is right.” – 41st U.S. President George H.W. Bush,
                            in his 1989 inauguration speech

The Kawananakoa Middle School flags will continue to fly at half staff through

the month of December in honor of and respect for President George H.W. Bush
who passed away on November 30, 2018.
