SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL (SCC) MEETING 
The SCC meeting will be held on Monday, May 21, from 5:00 pm in 
the school library.  Please see attached agenda.

IT’S A SWEEP…AND MORE!  
Congratulations to our 8th graders who swept the State PTSA Reflections 
Awards in the Literature category and took a 3rd place award in Photography!

Thank you to  English teachers, Ms. Lulla, Mr. Fahy and  Ms. Shibuya, and 
multi-media  teacher, Ms. Yanity, who provided the students with support 
and guidance.  Great job everyone! 

KMS QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER was distributed to students this week in 
their AA class.  Please ask your child to share it with you. Additional copies

are available in the school main office  (Bldg A, 2nd floor).

IMPORTANT CLASS DAY REMINDERS – Don’t be left behind!
6th Grade Class Day at Ice Palace – Tuesday, May 22
7th Grade Class Day at Ice Palace – Thursday, May 24

Students must be dressed in their RED uniform t-shirt – No loaner uniforms
   will be issued on the day of the field trip.
 
Students must has their school ID. If a students has lost his/her ID, a new
   card must be purchased at least one day prior to the field trip.
Students without an ID or red uniform t-shirt will not be allowed to join the 
   field trip and will remain on campus with an assigned teacher.

LAST CHANCE – ONLY 30 YEARBOOKS LEFT
Order your yearbooknow (if you haven’t done so already) – there are only 30

books left! The KMS main office is still accepting orders with a payment of
$35 in cash only.

CYBER CAMP– FREE!  Apply Now! 

Applications for Summer CyberCamp are still being accepted. Students 
will learn about  proper computer usage and cyber defense including protecting 
computers and computer networks from hacking.   

Students from last year’s class participated in the statewide competition of
CyberPatriot teams and earned 2nd place state honors! 

Tentative schedule  for the camp:
Tuesday, June 12 – Friday June 15
8:00 am – 1:30 pm Tues – Thursday
8:00 am – 12:00noon Friday

Monday, June 25 – Friday June 29
8:00 am – 12:00 noon

CyberCamp is FREE, and open only to KMS Students.  Students are expected 
to attend all sessions .  Students who are  also be enrolled in KMS Summer 
School Enrichment programs will be excused from their enrichment classes 
during CyberCamp days.  

Please see Mr. Hankins in K302 or Mrs. Miyata in K301 during non-class 

time for more information and application forms.
