Fri Mar 15 –  SQS parent survey due – must be postmarked no later than March 15

Sat Mar 16 –  KMS Wrestling Team at King Intermediate 9:30 am

Mon Mar 18 – No school – Spring Break March 18 through 22

Mon Apr 1-25  SBA (Smarter Balanced Assessment) English and math testing

Sat Apr 6  – KMS Advanced Chamber Orchestra competes at the 30th Annual
Parade of Orchestras 3:45 at the Pearl City Cultural Center.

CONGRATULATIONS MR. SUGANO! – 2019 Hawaii Outstanding Vice Principal
KMS is proud to announce that Mr. Michael Sugano will be honored as the
2019 Hawaii Outstanding Vice Principal by the Hawaii Elementary and
Middle School Administrators Association. Mr. Sugano will be recognized
at a special program in April, which also honors Hawaii’s Distinguished
District Principals. Mahalo Mr. Sugano for your hard work and dedication
to our school.

LAST DAY TO MAIL IN SQS – postmarked no later than tomorrow, March 15
KMS is asking all families to please submit their School Quality Survey (SQS)
by the March 15 deadline. Everyoneʻs feedback is critical to improving our
school. If you need another SQS packet, please request one at our school
main office, Building A, second floor – it is open tomorrow, 3/15.

PTSA KMS FEST 2019 Coming to KMS Campus April 5th – Save the date!
Join in on the fun, food and fantastic buys at this upcoming PTSA fundraiser
and celebration of our KMS family. Open the attached flyer below and read
about some of the food and fashion vendors who will be joining us for an
afternoon and evening of revelry.

PTSA is in need of volunteers and there are a variety of ways to help, so if you
are available, please contact Takemi at kawananakoams.ptsa@gmail.com

If you have medical credentials and are interested in assisting in the First Aid
booth, please let PTSA know. If you are an active duty police officer, please
consider helping with the event security. We look forward to hearing from you.

MAHALO WISH GRANTORS
Thank you to the family of Bryson Rubio, for their generous donation of
disinfecting wipes for use in Team 7A (Ms. Guardino, Mr. Reed, Ms. Togashi,
Mr. Waterman, and Ms. Yamane) classrooms. The teachers are very appreciative
of your efforts to support them in the classroom.

TEACHERS’ WISH LIST – Please help our teachers, help our students!
Team 7A teachers (Ms. Guardino, Mr. Reed, Ms. Togashi, Ms. Yamane,
Mr. Waterman-Reilly) are in need of disinfecting wipes to clean surfaces
in the classroom.
Please consider donating environmentally friendly wipes such as Simple Green
or Seventh Generation, but of course any donation will be deeply appreciated
and used in the classroom. Please bring all donations to the school main office.
