HAU`OLI LA HANAU – Happy Birthday Prince David Kawananakoa
Our school’s royal namesake, Prince David Kawananakoa, was born on February 19, 1868, in Pauoa Valley.

JOIN SPEECH TEAM – for the 2019-2020 season!
Throughout the month of February, the KMS Speech Team invites
6th and 7th grade students to join them every Wednesday in the 
J Building  Teachers’ Workroom from 2:05 to 3:30 pm to learn more about the team in preparation for the 2019-2020 season.    
Experience is not necessary.  Events include: Storytelling, Duo Interpretation (acting), Program Reading, Impromptu Speaking, 
and Original Oratory.

“If you’re shy, we’ll teach you how to love speaking up!  If you already like public speaking, we’ll help increase your vocabulary and  
channel your creative energy,” enthuses Ms. Turbeville, team coach.

KMS WRESTLING TEAM  – Girls and boys interested in joining the wrestling team, please see Mr. Yamagata, K103, for more information.

TEACHERS’ WISH LIST – Help our teachers, help our students! Mahalo to the many KMS families who continue to support KMS in the classroom.

Team 7A teachers (Ms. Guardino, Mr. Reed, Ms. Togashi, Ms. Yamane, Mr. Waterman-Reilly) are in need of bottles of hand sanitizer. Please bring all donations to the school main office.  Mahalo!

URGENT – SCHOOL QUALITY SURVEY (SQS) DUE – Please don’t delay! 
Parent School Quality Survey (SQS) forms were distributed to all students. As part of our on-going school improvement process, we need your input and feedback about our school. Please complete the survey and submit it in the postage-paid envelope and postmarked no later than March 15.

Your child also received an orange ticket that can be returned with your child’s name, AA classroom#, and your signature indicating your completion and mailing of the survey. Please have your child return the orange ticket to the school office to qualify for a small appreciation prize. If you need another SQS packet, please request one at our school main office.
